Another President’s Day is here, and some added attention is being brought to it this year. This is not necessarily because it’s is a milestone birthday for George Washington or Abraham Lincoln, but because with the Academy Awards right around the corner, Steve Spielberg’s “Lincoln” is up for several Oscar nominations and actor Daniel Day-Lewis is in the running to win best actor for his portrayal as “Honest” Abe. With that said, we here at Fision wanted to add a even more excitement to the day by sharing four quotes from past President’s in hopes of providing sales and marketing professionals with a little inspiration and information.
The first is from Jimmy Carter – “We must adjust to changing times and still hold to unchanging principles.”
The basics will never change. Sales pros and marketers know that you always must present your company well, show what makes your product unique, strive to identify your top prospects; and use the best technology possible to make the entire process efficient. These basic principles have been around in one form or another for years, but in our hyper-connected, fast-paced world, execution of these has changed. Presenting your company and identifying prospects now takes a different form than it did when Carter was president in the late-70’s. Similarly taking advantage of the best technology available is as important for businesses now as it was during the Industrial Revolution.
“We cannot do everything at once, but we can do something at once.” – Calvin Coolidge
Marketing pros keep busy in many ways; whether it be industry research, creating marketing collateral, executing campaigns, or perfecting marketing strategy. To further complicate things they have to work in several channels – mobile, email, web, and social media just to name a few. The beauty of marketing automation is that it enables you to create collateral in a matter of clicks and it automates the distribution of that collateral allowing you to focus more clearly on other forward-looking tasks.
“Things may come to those who wait…but only the things left by those who hustle.” – Lincoln
One of the top selling points of a distributed marketing automation software is how it increases efficiency. Recently, the American Marketing Association conducted a study that found each salesperson spends 30 hours a month creating their own sales content. At that rate, even if one hustles they end up spending nearly a week each month trying to personalize and customize sales materials. To get ahead and stay ahead; sales needs a tool that allows them to send the right message, to the right person, at the right time, through the right channel.
“There are no problems we cannot solve together, and very few that we can solve alone.” – Lyndon B. Johnson
In the end, sales and marketing teams are different – this we know. However, an easy to use a platform like Fision’s helps align these two departments in powerful and successful ways. It allows marketing to create and store, brand compliant materials that sales can use when engaging with consumers. When the sales team needs to send a prospect a personalized message; they can easily search for, craft, and send that message in a matter of minutes. This process plays to the strengths of both marketers and salespeople, proving that distributed marketing automation helps get everyone on the same page and maximizes business output.
